Disaster Relief Resources for Students and Educators
Dear Educators and Administrators,
We know this is an incredibly difficult time for schools, and Young Storytellers wants to help address the urgent need we are hearing from many of you for accessible, ready-to-use K-12 lesson plans to support substitute teachers and organizations stepping up through school closures and teacher absences.
You may already know that we provide free English Language Arts and Social-Emotional Learning resources on The Achievery, a free digital learning platform by AT&T that hosts valuable resources from over a dozen youth-serving organizations, including Young Storytellers. These include engaging videos, lesson plans, and PDF activities aligned with educational standards and designed for classroom, after school program, and independent student use.
In response to the wildfires, which may hinder accessibility to content on The Achievery, we have created two “Playlists” with all Young Storytellers materials embedded. You can find these Common Core & CASEL/SEL aligned playlists containing videos, worksheets and lesson plans available below.
Please feel free to share these with your network of colleagues, including substitute teachers, to help provide meaningful lessons with minimal preparation.
Thank you for your incredible work during this difficult time. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or for additional support.
In community, The Young Storytellers Team
